Statement from W. Graeme Roustan
Earlier today, federal minister Evan Solomon toured our manufacturing facility in Brantford, Ontario and met with myself and our team.
Roustan Hockey has proudly manufactured sporting goods in Canada for generations. Our mission is to grow the game and supply high-quality sticks at affordable prices for players and families.
The current trade environment is creating challenges for manufacturers across Canada, including Roustan Hockey. We want to take this opportunity to thank our customers on both sides of the border for their continued trust and support.
Despite these challenges, we remain committed to our employees, our customers and our manufacturing operations here in Canada. While others have moved manufacturing offshore, we have continued to invest in Canada, preserving a 179-year manufacturing legacy while growing the game of hockey and supplying affordable sticks for players of all ages and skill levels.
As stewards of the only commercial hockey stick factory in Canada, we greatly appreciate the support we have received from Canadians and the interest from the federal government. Amid the challenges that lie ahead, Roustan Hockey is confident in the strength of our business, the quality of our Canadian-made products and the federal government’s commitment to supporting Canadian industry.
We welcome the national tariff relief measures being announced and Canada’s promise to help protect businesses and Canadian jobs. We will need it to ensure world-leading, Canadian-owned companies like ours continue to invest, grow and manufacture in Canada for years to come.
We also want to encourage Canadians to buy Made In Canada products. Every purchase will help support Canadian workers, Canadian communities and the future of hockey in Canada.
Together, we can continue growing the game and supplying high-quality hockey sticks at affordable price points for players and families across this beautiful country.
