Roustan Sports Factory Swarmed by Media Amid Tariff Trade War Threat

W. Graeme Roustan, Executive Chairman of Roustan Sports Ltd. and Roustan Hockey’s STIX.com, appeared in no less than seven recent media stories based from Canada’s only hockey stick factory in Brantford, Ont.

CBC News (Alberta, Radio-Canada and Hanomansing Tonight), CTV News (Kitchener and Northern Ontario), USA’s Associated Press and the Brantford Expositor all visited the factory within a month and published stories on the Roustan Sports business model.

“What I’m trying to do for the rest of my life is to put pressure on the big brands to lower their price, and to find ways to deliver hockey equipment at lower prices for the Canadian family,” Roustan told CBC.

Roustan also spoke about the U.S. economic threats facing Canada, and the need for the nation to pull together.

“Canadian business leaders, politicians and consumers all have roles to play if they want to maintain the legacy of making hockey equipment in Canada,” Roustan told the Expositor.

“These are important companies to our culture. If not, tariffs will kill Canada’s last and only hockey stick factory and once it’s gone it will never come back.”
